Still November and I have a new question.

I have been working with a local high school in an intensive reading class. I have gone in and taught the teacher how to set up centers/stations in her classroom. She has implemented the stations and they have been very successful. Centers are an ESE and elementary classroom strategy. My background is in ESE/high school. I think it would be beneficial to our clients to have resources avalibale to them for setting up and creating effective centers/stations in their classrooms. Therefore my new and improved action research question is: How will my ESE background with the use of iPod technology enhance the quality of my training and support to my clients? I can't wait to get some video on some great teaching techniques taking place in our schools.

November already?

In the time that I have been part of this learning community I have changed my action research like I change my socks : ). This is my first year with HRD and I believe I learn something new everyday regrading our clients and their needs. While learning to simply turn my ipod on and off and becoming familiar with action research I have come up with an idea that has been getting positive feedback. Tanya has given me great video footage of One Voice training that took place this summer. I hope to begin using the footage as a model with this group and begin asking for feedback. As luck would have it I have a defective ipod and will be getting a new one tomorrow (finally). I look forward to beginning my research.

Although I think of myself as somewhat "computer savvy" I have found out there is still so much that I do not know. I have been with HRD for the past few months and during this time I have been utilizing Blackboard, EBOLT, and now the I-Pod LC. I am excited to learn as much as I can regarding technology and the way it can be incorporated in educating students as well as helping to make our jobs and trainings more effective. As a member of the new Effective Schools Program I feel it is essential to be abreast of any new ways to effectively increase productivity in our schools. My action research is to find a way to display portions of the trainings we do regarding the One Voice Program as well as display the positive activities we are part of in schools. I would like to display the trainings and school sites via podcast at least once a month. I would then like to incorporate a monthly eBolt session open to the district where they could log in and ask any questions they may have reagrding High Yield Strategies, 7 Correlates, 8 Step-Process, etc.
